BIGFOOT employee from: July 1980 to June 2007 Hometown: St. Louis, MO Currently living in: Holt, MO Roy: I was a Midwest 4WD / Bigfoot employee from July 1980 to June 2007. I'm originally from St. Louis and always lived in the area until I moved to Holt, MO in 2007. This is a small town about 30 miles north of Kansas City. We moved here to be closer to our three grandkids, ages 10, 8, and 4 (also our daughter and son in law). We also have a son in the Army. My first job after leaving Bigfoot was with Motion Industries, doing industrial repairs on hydraulic equipment and gearbox repair in Riverside, MO. After about a year and a half, an opportunity came up to work at my current job at Summit Truck Equipment, installing tow truck bodies and doing truck and trailer repair in Kansas City. It's not exactly a motorsports job, but I get to work on some big trucks again. When at home, I usually hang out in my shop, ride my Harley, or ride on our MX track in our back yard. While the work at Bigfoot was usually pretty demanding, due to the schedule, I gained a lot of valuable experience that I couldn't have gotten anywhere else. Also the TV shows, Junkyard Wars and Driveshaft wear great experiences. Looking back, I also met a lot of good people, some that I still stay in contact with. Overall my experience at Bigfoot is something I'll never forget. -- Thanks Roy, you were the best! |
