22 December 2007 - It is with great disappointment that we announce an ending
to a long and successful relationship with Ford Motor Company. BIGFOOT has been with Ford for 23 great years. We have been a BIG part of keeping the Ford F-series truck the #1 selling trucks in America and Ford has helped make BIGFOOT the best known and loved Monster Truck in the world. As much as this saddens us we are also excited about our future opportunities.
Have a great New Year!

BIGFOOT makes Hot Rod Magazine's Top 100 Hot Rods
28 November 2008 - BIGFOOT #1 has made Hot Rod
Magazine's “The Top 100” - “The most influential hot rods of all times”.
The article appears in the January 2008 issue, their 60th Anniversary
issue.
Hot Rod Magazine: “To celebrate our 60th anniversary, the HOT ROD staff and a few industry friends help
us choose the 100 most influential vehicles in the history of hot
rodding. We justified our actions by picking cars based on a very specific criterion.
In a word: influence. The cars we chose had to make a difference to the gearhead hobby, the racing sport, or the people in them.
They had to be trend starters or fad killers, landmarks of style, or shepherds of technology they put a bend in the road of hot
rodding”.

BOB CHANDLER'S BIGFOOT
"This'74 F-250 (with a'79 body) began as a promotional stunt for Bob Chandler's four-wheel-drive shop and ended up creating an entire monster truck craze that led to several sanctioning bodies and fans worldwide. Version 3 of the truck appeared on the Apr. '84 cover of HOT ROD. There have been 17 Big Foot trucks built since the first (shown here), all of them contributing significant developments to the sport of monster truck promotions and racing”.

MONSTER TRUCK GRANTS A WISH

Photo by Ross & Lauren Bonar, courtesy of The
Monster Blog.
There are many Monster Trucks coming for the competition but one special truck will arrive early in Billings on Wednesday afternoon in preparation to grant the wish of a young boy in the Make a Wish system named Terry Fosjord. Terry is excited and one of his wishes was to meet the legendary BIGFOOT Monster Truck and its driver. The Monster Truck and driver will arrive at Terry’s house around 7:30 in the morning on Thursday morning. After picking him up with BIGFOOT in the middle of a police escort they will be on their way to the Highland Elementary School and visit with Terry’s class and the rest of the school. “The Monster Truck drivers all want to be involved with the Make A Wish program no matter what City we go to. “There is nothing like seeing a big rig come rolling up to a school with a big smile on his face ready to give out autographs and photos with Terry and his friends and school mates.” said Ed Beckley of Checkered Flag Productions.
The visit comes as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation program of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho, and Washington, which strives to improve the lives of kids with life threatening illness or conditions through wish fulfillment. For information on how you can donate to help make a difference in one of these children’s lives visit
www.nwwishes.org.
The Monster Trucks will appear at the Monster Truck Nationals and Thrill Show which rolls into the METRA Grandstand on Saturday November 3rd at 7:30 p.m. The driver of the Monster Truck BIGFOOT is from St. Louis, MO. He will be in side by side racing, also car crushing, and wheelie contests. Other trucks in the competition are MARTIAL LAW, ARACHNAPHOBIA, POISON, ROCK STAR and HIGH VOLTAGE.

The End Of An Era
13 June 2007 - We are sorry to announce that Roy Hooser is leaving BIGFOOT 4x4, Inc. after 27 great years! Roy is moving to Kansas City, MO, and his last day is today, June 13th, 2007.

Bob Chandler, Roy Hooser, and
Marilyn Chandler. The BIGFOOT legends!
Roy has been an instrumental part of EVERY innovation that has been included in the entire BIGFOOT fleet. He has taken part in the actual building of every BIGFOOT truck, except #1, although he has definitely spent plenty of time working on that one!
Roy is, without a doubt, the most knowledgeable mechanic in the monster truck industry. He will be greatly missed by everyone at BIGFOOT, and by many other monster truck owners and drivers who he has helped throughout his long career.

Roy (on far left) from 1986,
Squirt, Bob Palfreeman, Jay Diekman, and Ken Koelling.
Roy will always be welcome back at BIGFOOT. While he was the MTRA Mechanic of the Year 3 times, including the first year the award was given, Roy has been BIGFOOT’s Mechanic of the Year every year! We are losing one of the most gifted innovators and hardest working individuals in our sport.

Roy working on a BIGFOOT chassis.
None of us are sure what you think you are going to do with all of your free time, Roy, working only 40 hours per week and not taking broken truck problems over the phone, but there’s always fishing. GOOD LUCK, Roy! We will miss you!

Summit BIGFOOT #15 and Star BIGFOOT #14 shared a wide-load to Sanderson Ford in Phoenix, AZ on the evening of Thursday, April 26th.
Dan Runte, Dave Harkey, and Madusa joined the trucks for a radio remote where listeners could pre-register for the 9th annual Monster Truck Jammin’ Nationals and truck show at
Firebird International
Raceway.
On Friday, Dave, Madusa and the trucks visited Phoenix Children’s Hospital. While Dave & Madusa visited with the kids, the Firebird reps gave the kids bags of goodies, which included BIGFOOT toys.
On Saturday, the BIGFOOT crew and friends, including MSD rep. Spike Clapper and his wife Terri, who drove in from El Paso, TX, helped hold down the BIGFOOT tents that tried to blow away during an unusually long Phoenix sand storm.

Later that afternoon, Cody Minulella and his parents came for a visit.

Cody has a very rare illness called LCH and is currently getting weekly treatments from Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He was chosen as the Tire Pros Monster Truck Jammin’ Nationals Crew Member for a Day. Firebird and BIGFOOT gave Cody a Road Rippers lights & sounds toy BIGFOOT, which he and Dave worked together to get out of the box so that Cody could play with it!

Who do you think had more fun with the toy, Dave or Cody?

BIGFOOT #4 = SOLD!

BIGFOOT #4 as it has appeared the
last 2 years.
02 February 2007 - BIGFOOT #4
has been sold. #4 was the second longest running vehicle in the BIGFOOT stable, behind The Original
Monster Truck®, BIGFOOT #1, which still is
holding a running working monster truck after 31 years. Team BIGFOOT
still has 10 vehicles, 6 of which still perform in live events.
Keeping all those trucks running and performing at a top level takes a lot
of time and space. #4 was one of the last straight frame chassis' to
wear the BIGFOOT name, and after 21 years of service, it had simply run
its' course.
Some of #4's highlights include:
-
Debuted in 1985 in the Louisiana Superdome
-
First monster truck to run a "hybrid"
suspension, combining leaf spring and gas shock technology
-
Won one of Team BIGFOOT's first
championships in 1990
-
First "character" bodied monster truck
-
Became a full-time display truck in it's later years

#4 as it looked in the late
1980's.
Ryan and Heather Wehmeyer of Owensville, MO purchased the truck and will be using it as a display vehicle.
We wish them all the best in whatever venture they put this historic BIGFOOT
chassis through!

#4 as it looked departing from
BIGFOOT headquarters for the final time.
Firestone BIGFOOT Gets A New Look

We are very excited about the new look and are sure the Firestone dealers and all our BIGFOOT fans are going to love it too! Please check back later for pictures of the matching transporter.
