Jared
WELCOME FRIENDS!
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce
you to a special friend of the BIGFOOT Organization.
Jared Aldrich, born July 25th, 1982, first met up with the BIGFOOT
Organization at age 8.
Multiple physical problems were noted at Jared's birth. He had
difficulty eating and gained little weight during his first year.
Development in all areas was delayed, and at two years, he began
experiencing seizures. Jared's mother says that seizures may be
triggered by a variety of stressors including environmental stimuli (e.g.,
noise and confusion) and emotional stress. Each seizure Jared has
puts more and more stress on his brain.
 Around
the age of 8, Jared became interested in the BIGFOOT Monster Trucks.
He enjoyed attending the truck shows and visiting with many of the people
involved. He was "adopted" by the show promoters as well
as the BIGFOOT Organization. His phone skills were enhanced when he
began talking with the drivers and other personnel on the telephone.
Jared works at difficult tasks for a "BIGFOOT reward" (i.e., toy
truck, video tape). Jared's interest in BIGFOOT has been
successfully used by his mother to motivate him to learn concepts as well
as appropriate behaviors. Jared's seizures have actually been
stopped by talking to him about BIGFOOT or giving him a "BIGFOOT
reward".
Jared and his family have become a part of the
BIGFOOT Family. Whenever BIGFOOT is in Jared's area, he is sure
to be there along with his father Jerome, mother Debi, brother
Christopher, and sisters Shannon, Kelly, and Erin. We've even
gone to his home & visited!
His father customized a BIGFOOT wagon to push
Jared around in at shows.
While Jared has now outgrown his wagon, that didn't keep him from coming
to the events whenever possible.
In 1994, Jared was named the MTRA's Mascot.
Recently, it has become difficult, if not impossible for
Jared to visit with the BIGFOOT crew. His health keeps him from
doing many activities.
Against all odds, Jared is now 21 years old, and is still
BIGFOOT's biggest fan.
